Most of my posts are about key success factors. It was time to write a post about the points to avoid if you want to create articles with no expiration date. Analyzing the statistics of this blog, I have learned 8 lessons.

I like statistics. Since the introduction of Google Analytics' real-time visits, I no longer need to watch TV. There's something addictive about them. If you're now thinking I'm a geek, you're probably right. Having a keen interest in your blog's statistics also has its advantages because it helps you learn.
Blog and articles without readers
It's good to know which posts are the best, but you get more journalist email addresses information from all those that have been a total failure. I share with you my recent conclusions about those "zombie" posts that have long since lost their life.
1. Many are from the beginning : the best post in the world can end up with no readers if it is a new blog. In your beginnings you have few readers so a high coverage is less likely than when you are in a more advanced phase. If you are just starting out and are barely getting attention you should not worry because it is totally normal.
2. Some of them are outside the main themes of the blog : approximately 50% of the visits to this blog are recurring. I write in general about online advertising, blogging and entrepreneurs. If I go outside of that, it is difficult for the post to be well received since it does not fit with the preferences of my loyal readers.
3. They are between 300-500 words long : I have gone from writing short posts to entries that often exceed 1,000 words. Short articles have their advantages in capturing the attention of first-time visitors to the blog. Over time, you have more readers who already know more or less what to expect. Nowadays, posts with greater density tend to be more successful.
4. Bad writing and style : the other day I was reading an old post. To be honest, the “Germanic” style of my early days is very noticeable. I still have difficulties with spelling and grammar, given that I never learned to write Spanish correctly. With the practice of publishing a post every day, I think things are gradually improving.
