"If we can write a Wikipedia online together, why wouldn't we use the same techniques and models to tackle poverty worldwide?" That thought was the start of the 1%Club. The "how" and the "what" have been discussed a lot internally in recent years, the team still tinkers with them every day. However, the ' Why ' has always been crystal clear: the club believed in people with good ideas, who want to improve their environment. And these people deserved a stage.
As a pioneer you will encounter many setbacks, but the 'Why' keeps albania mobile phone number list you going and is the reason that you do not give up when you face setbacks, but keep going. So spend enough attention and time on why you want to do the social innovation that you have set your mind on.
Do you also have big ambitions? Then be smart and involve your community from the start. Don't try to think of everything yourself, but choose an open (and vulnerable) attitude. Before you know it, your initiative is no longer alone and a movement of people has emerged who want to think along and participate in achieving your shared dream.
Our basis was clear: 'Imagine that everyone uses 1% of their time, knowledge and money to get smart ideas from pioneers in developing countries, then together we can achieve a lot.' To start this, a crowd was needed. And where do you get a crowd so quickly?'
We invited everyone who wanted to, to think along in an offline event. No less than 400 people showed up. They were all pioneers who shared our vision in their own way and were therefore looking for the “how” and the “what”.
