Salesland: a journey of more than 16 years that has marked my life

Today I would like to tell you my story of sales, challenges , journeys and new steps.

Because Salesland is a lifestyle that has been built over a long 16-year journey, without which I would not be able to express what I am today.

But let’s start at the beginning: after several years working in Elda (Alicante), my hometown, fate brought me to Madrid in October 2001. I soon began to look for work in this unknown and chaotic city that at first seemed like a world to me, and Salesland gave me the opportunity in November of that same year to start as a salesperson for an advertising sales campaign for the newspaper ABC . The reality is that, when you face a new professional profile, in my case sales, you never know if you are going to do well or badly , but I was lucky enough to find a profession and a company that suited me.

After a while, an interesting job offer from another chile whatsapp lead company knocked on my door, but Salesland had an important project reserved for me as team leader for the Real Madrid team, and I said yes without thinking twice. I thought so little about it that I didn't even pay attention at the time to the fact that the position was for Ciudad Real and Extremadura. There was something about Salesland that not even the distance from my home and the hours of travel could make me change my mind!

A year and a half later I returned to Madrid as an account coordinator, and in 2005 I was offered the position of account manager for one of the company's most important projects , where I have been working for 12 years with different campaigns. The best of all? Working with a top-level client that allows you to evolve as a professional, build and get to know a great work team that gives you all the security you need, and make the best friends you can imagine.

The latest “stops” that have marked my journey through the company and that make me identify more with this lifestyle are: a few years ago participating in the Salesland shareholding and my recent appointment, a few months ago, as Senior Account Director, a recognition that I will always be grateful for from this person that I consider my family.

16 years of changes
In this time within the commercial world I feel that everything has changed a lot . We have replaced paper applications with tablets and digitalized forms, processes have been parameterized much more, product quality takes priority and the entire sales strategy revolves around personalization .

As for the sales profile, it is no longer enough to have good communication skills. Clients/consumers demand high quality sales, a desire to learn, a spirit of continuous improvement , learning capacity and specialization above experience. Now, everything is audited.

And finally, we move in the sector of immediacy par excellence, in which what we did yesterday is no longer valid, in which we have to think about today, in the now, and do our job, because tomorrow new things will arise to do, in a train that is always running, in which we work at high speed.

If I could give you one piece of advice, I would give you this one that marks my day to day: work hard and put enthusiasm into everything you do . Set yourself challenges and go for them, because if you want to, you can. With desire, you can achieve anything.
