In this series of articles about advertising on Facebook, I will discuss the ins & outs of advertising on the largest social network in the world. In the first part, I started with the differences between search & social. In this second part, I will give an extensive overview of all the different types of advertisements that you can use on Facebook to reach your target audience.

Advertisements vs. Sponsored Reports
The range of advertising types on Facebook is large. What once started with 1 simple advertisement has now grown into a range of different advertising types, each with their own objective, operation, rules, prices and effectiveness. In recent months in particular, Facebook has introduced a number of new advertising options at a rapid pace. We can generally distinguish 2 types of advertisements on Facebook:

Advertisements
Sponsored Reports
The difference between the two types is that advertisements are the voice of the marketer (e.g. 'Participate in this campaign and win an iPad!') and sponsored stories are the voice of your Facebook friends ('I participated in this campaign and now have a chance to win an iPad!'). With advertisements you can promote your brand or campaign on cambodia telegram data Facebook. When people then interact with your Facebook page, posting or application, you can communicate this to their friends via sponsored stories. In this article I will explain what these advertising formats look like and what you can do with them.

Advertisements

1. Standard advertisements
Standard ads are the simplest form of advertising on Facebook. As I indicated in my previous article , these ads are most similar to Google Adwords, but then supplemented with an image. The standard ad consists of:

Title: max 25 characters
Body text: maximum 90 characters including spaces
Image : up to 100 pixels wide and 72 pixels high
Like button: Users can like a page directly via this button below the advertisement.
The standard advertisements can be targeted to (link to) a spot on your Facebook page – for example your pinboard or an application on your page – or to an external URL such as your website. If you have the advertisement refer to an external URL, Facebook will also show this in the advertisement. Facebook will also show the social context : if one of my friends is a fan of the page, his name will be shown under the advertisement. If I don't have any friends who are fans of the brand, only the number of fans will be shown. The social context can also be shown if the advertisements go to an external URL. In that case, however, the external URL must be linked to your Facebook page.
