Motivate visitors to sort waste

Post by arzina998 »

3. Hand out reusable cups
Instead of plastic bottles and paper cups, hand out reusable cups. We see this more and more often. For example at food festivals, where you buy a cup and have it filled. You can also do this for coffee cups and water bottles. You can have them completely designed in your own house style, so that people remember your company or event.

4. Order edible tableware
At the food trucks and catering squares you often see bins full of plastic plates, cups and cutlery. Every now and then you see a wooden version, which is already a lot better. But what do you think of edible tableware ? That saves a lot of waste and it is also fun. Enjoy eating your plate or cup when you are done eating and drinking. Just like with an ice cream cone.

Waste cannot be completely prevented. To ensure that visitors sort waste properly, you provide clear signs and bins. You see this more and more often, also at stations and in other public spaces.

You can go the extra mile by having a team of people in a flashy outfit activate people to throw their waste in the right bin. Or even more fun: make a game of it!

Tetrabin is a great example of this. A trash can heavy construction contractors mailing list that you can play Tetris with. When you have a piece of trash, you choose where and when to throw it in.

6. Give aways made from recycled material
At events, small items are often given away. Especially bags, pens, stress balls, but also many other fun items. Here too, you can choose more sustainable solutions. For example, bags made from recycled material, paper (oh no, stone paper) bags instead of plastic or products that are sustainably produced.

More and more products and companies are responding to sustainability.

More sustainable ideas for events?
These are just a few examples, but there are so many more possibilities. For example, what do you do with leftover flowers and other decorations? What kind of badges do you use and reuse? How can you prevent food waste as much as possible? There is still a lot of work to be done, but it is a start! I am curious about your experiences with or ideas for a more sustainable event.
