Putin noted that high inflation (currently 9.2-9.3%) is an alarming signal for the country's economy.

"But wages have grown by 9% in real terms. I want to emphasize this, in real terms, minus inflation. And the disposable income of the population has also grown. So, overall, this situation is stable, I repeat, and reliable," the president said.

Answering a question about the rise in consumer prices, Putin said that one of the reasons for this was that the population's income grew faster than the volume of manufactured goods and, accordingly, the mass of goods.
