Data analysis also allows certain content to reach people in a more assertive way. On the one hand, this is great, as it allows a greater diversity of information to reach more people, but on the other hand, it increases the risk of data manipulation and damaging voters' value judgments, which is what we call fake news .

NiBePolítica is an example of software that can be used to collect and assemble data in order to be used as a source of information, for the benefit of Electoral Campaigns.

One of the most famous cases of Big Data use in politics and electoral campaigns is the election of Donald Trump in 2016. The politician hired the services of the British company Cambridge Analytica, a consultancy jordan mobile database that processes millions of pieces of information and can profile voters, facilitating campaign strategies on social media.

Basically, Trump and his team, based on the work of Cambridge Analytica, created “tailored campaigns” according to the profiles and personalities of different segments of people on social media, closely following their behavioral trends. All this with the digital traces that Americans leave on the internet.

The company has already arrived in Brazil and has been operating since March of this year. However, Brazilian politicians can already count on consulting from other companies that have similar proposals, that of carrying out Big Data analysis for politics.

Check out the report from Jornal do Commercio de Recife that mentions the importance of Big Data for elections and NiBePolítica as a system that allows the classification and geolocation of voters!
