Closing of the activity with the first results

Time is of the essence in brainstorming. Contrary to popular belief, more time doesn't equal more productivity. After a certain period, brainstorming tends to scatter, become repetitive, and unproductive.

The ideal length for this exercise is one hour. You can consider the doctor database first fifteen minutes a warm-up, while participants get their voices heard and articulate their initial ideas.

The middle half hour is the most important: during this time, the most interesting solutions and the best group dynamics will be generated . Therefore, it's preferable to allow it to flow without interruptions.

During the last fifteen minutes, it is recommended that you conduct an evaluation of the ideas, as we will describe below.

How do you evaluate the ideas generated in a brainstorming session? Based on some of the criteria we've mentioned:

Relationship with the problem posed.
Feasibility of application.
Possible benefits.
To this end, it's important to properly brainstorm ideas. Hence the importance of writing down as many ideas as possible on whiteboards, bulletin boards, or flipcharts. At the same time, it's essential for the coordinator to identify those that meet the three criteria we've mentioned.

An ideal way to close a brainstorming session is for the participants themselves to select the most valuable ideas in the assembly.

In this regard, it is necessary to establish the reasons for discarding ideas that are not selected, so that their authors can properly consider them. Feedback is very important for moving forward with new sessions.
