Music from the platform library

Post by Bappy11 »

An example of such a license is that of Creative Commons . An artist can choose under which conditions he or she wants to release a license for his or her music. For example, the music can be used free of royalties, as long as you mention where it comes from. Licenses for royalty-free music, such as those of Creative Commons, can often be obtained for free or for a small fee.

In principle, you can use the music from a platform's library without any worries. The platform is responsible for the artist's permission, because they are the ones who make the music available.

In most cases, a platform such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube has concluded licensing c level executive list agreements with collective management organisations (CMOs), so that users can freely use the music. An example of such a CMO in the Netherlands is Buma/Stemra . They manage the rights and ensure that artists are compensated for the use of their music.

Sometimes it happens that a platform does not have its licenses in order, but a user will not quickly get into trouble because of this. The biggest disadvantage for users is that licenses can be revoked by rights holders, which will probably take your content offline. There is nothing you can do about this.
