The key performance indicator – what exactly is it?

My grandmother used to have a household budget. She meticulously recorded all income and expenses in narrow columns, and at the end of the month, if there was any money left over, each child would get a lollipop. A friend of mine now tracks her budget with an app so she can keep track of all her monthly expenses. Salary, monthly income and expenses, fixed costs, extra expenses, and anything else that comes up. These are essentially her personal KPIs, with the goal of having a certain amount left over to save at the end of the month. But what exactly are key performance indicators, and how can you evaluate website data using KPIs in marketing?







What does the word key performance indicator mean?


Literally translated into German, it means "key performance indicator."
