22. Release of information without consent

21. Media interviews with patients Sometimes, a member of the media may want to interview a patient for a story. This happens less frequently, but you cannot allow the media to interview a substance abuse patient. Doing so is a violation of HIPAA. The reason is that it violates their privacy. Even if the patient agrees, we still recommend staying away from the idea completely.

22. Release of information without consent This may seem taiwan whatsapp obvious, but it happens. Publishing information about minors without parental consent is a violation of HIPAA. Not only that, but it can lead to problems with parents or guardians, or even legal action. 23. Posting incorrect patient information This is where you have to be extra careful.

Anyone can make a mistake, but that doesn't mean it's legal. If you or one of your colleagues releases information to the wrong patient, you're violating HIPAA. This often happens when the patient names are the same or similar. Make sure to train employees to double-check the information they release. 24. Right of withdrawal Any forms your patients sign need to have a "right to revoke" clause.
