TOInstagram CEO Dam Mosseri has outlined Meta’s plans to fully integrate Threads into the fediverse . This was announced in a thread on the social network itself, just days after testing the integration of ActivityPub into Threads began, a strategy aimed at introducing the application to the fediverse and allowing its publications to be displayed on other platforms that also use the same protocol . Such as Mastodon.

The first step toward integration has been to allow people in the fediverse who don’t have a profile on Threads or even on Instagram to follow Mosseri’s account on Threads. However, Meta’s plans go beyond interoperability and, according to the executive, meeting all of its goals will take “the better part of a year . ”

Meta plans to roll out updates in stages , and while the one-year lead time is long — much longer than Mosseri or his team members would like given the sheer amount of work they need to do — it is necessary to maintain balance .

Mosseri's action plan to integrate Threads into the fediverse
First, the Threads team is working to make the option to bosnia and herzegovina number data follow a Threads account from other social platforms not limited to just a handful of testers, but available to all public accounts on the social network.

It is also proposed that users be able to choose to have their posts displayed on other servers in the fediverse . However, they are considering making this the default option in the future, with the user being able to choose not to participate. In this regard, Mosseri has stated, “We are starting small to ensure that we have time to overcome all the challenges, since our systems have not historically been designed with this use case in mind.”

In addition, replies posted on other platforms will be allowed to appear within Threads as well . The executive says that “it is a bad experience to have to leave the Threads application to see the responses received from the community at large.”
