WhatsApp 2.0, the instant messaging revolution

After several modifications, WhatsApp 2.0 was born , an early version of the application we know today. Within two months it reached 250,000 users, and Acton realized the potential of the application Koum had created, so he invested $250,000 and became a co-founder of the company .

Initially, it was a free and paid app, as its growth was so large that it was difficult to maintain the servers. That is why Koum and Acton set a price to slow down the number of new users.

By the early 2010s, WhatsApp was already a fast and useful alternative for communicating with other people. Moreover, the fact that the app was ad-free and free helped a lot to consolidate the image it has today.

Facebook's purchase and entry into the business market

This transaction is very significant in the history of modern technology, since with this purchase, Zuckerberg's company became the owner of three of the social networks with the most users in the world : WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
