Don't worry, you can still use memes

When this article of the EU Copyright Directive was known as Article 13, there were some rumors in the digital marketing world that the European Union was going to ban memes . The good news is that we can still use them today. Why? Because there is an exception in the Directive that states that the use of “parts of copyrighted material for the purposes of criticism, review, parody and pastiche” will still be allowed.

A response on Twitter from the European Union confirms that this part comes from the 2001 copyright law, and will not change.
