Your brain does not distinguish between reality and imagination.

If you are part of a wild chase, your body releases cortisol. If you watch a wild chase on TV, your body also releases cortisol.

Paul Zak is a neuroscientist bangladesh telegram screening and has researched the phenomenon of storytelling in detail. He is interested in the chemicals in our brain and what different elements of a story have to do with them. In one study, he took blood samples from subjects while they watched two different videos.

One video told the story of a father whose son has cancer and is dying. The father finds it difficult to play carefree with the little boy because he knows something that the child does not know: He is dying.

The second video simply shows father and son taking a walk through the zoo.

Now guess which video got more neurotransmitters dancing. The first one, of course. It evokes empathy, we do NOT care what happens to the son and what the father goes through. We see a character who has a problem and is going through a conflict. How can the father act carefree when he knows his son is about to die? We want to know what happens.
