Third mistake, the one I think has cost me the most in my life: wanting to do too much. We all have too little time in our lives, we all have a lot of things to do, a lot of activities in our lives. And sometimes, we read a lot of things to apply in terms of personal development and we try to add that into our daily lives.
I, at one time, added a lot of things to my morning routine. I wanted to exercise, read, meditate, do yoga, do breathing exercises, learn a new language. And since I didn't have time to do it during the day, I put all of that, I try to condense it into my morning routine.
Doing that is counterproductive because personal development should not be a list of tasks that we try to check off every day, especially when we talk about things like meditation or yoga, which are india whatsapp number data supposed to be moments of rest. If you try to do too much, to always add something, well you will not do it properly, you will not get the benefits and it will be to the detriment of other things, that is to say, you will be more stressed and it will perhaps be, like me, to the detriment of sleep.
"Oh! It doesn't matter. I don't have time to meditate, I'll get up earlier to do it." And you're getting into something that's counterproductive. Every good thing, done in excess, becomes bad. We all need oxygen, we all need water, and yet if we drink too much water or have too much oxygen, we can die. So every thing, even good, even vital, done in excess becomes bad.
This is obviously also true for personal development, so I have done a lot of work to simplify my life. I no longer do yoga, I no longer meditate, I stopped learning a new foreign language. And it is not because these things are not useful, on the contrary, these things are great, it is just that you have to make choices and focus on things that you consider to be more necessary at a given moment. So, I continue to walk every day, to read every day, to do a little muscle exercise every day and that is already enough. Unfortunately, we cannot do everything, so simplify, do less, but do it better.
