Lately, most people (56%) are concerned about fake news online, with high numbers in countries with weaker traditional institutions like Brazil, Kenya, and South Africa. 40% see social media as the most worrying source of misinformation , well above news sites, messaging services, or search engines. However, more polarized countries are more likely to blame journalists. In the United States, 43% of right-wingers blame journalists for spreading misinformation.
The pandemic will therefore have made it possible to prove thefor the public and society as a whole. It remains for the media to strengthen the conquest of audiences through verified information and relevant formats as an essential driver of democracy.
