There is one exception to this dark series of the director's works - a surprisingly bright and simple film from 1999 with the telling title "The Straight Story". It tells the story of an old man who decided to visit his sick brother and went to him on a long journey on a small tractor. The result is the most humane and, perhaps, the most American work of Lynch - about endless spaces, good people and simple values.
After 2006, when the strange film Inland Empire was released, reminiscent of the director's debut film Eraserhead in its quirkiness, Lynch did not make any more feature films.
David divorced his first wife Peggy in 1974, before the india mobile database release of his debut big picture. Since then, the director has married three more times, and has a child with each of his wives. The most recent of them, daughter Lula, was born in 2012, when Lynch was already 66. The director's most recent wife filed for divorce in 2023.
Not just a director
In addition to filmmaking, Lynch continued to draw and take up photography throughout his life. He also recorded three albums of avant-garde music.
David has occasionally appeared on screen as an actor. Perhaps his most famous role was in Steven Spielberg's 2022 film The Fabelmans. In it, Lynch played the great Hollywood director John Ford, who reveals one of the secrets of professional mastery to the young Spielberg.
