When Lenka saw how much textile was going to waste, she decided she wanted to do something about it. After much thought, she came to the conclusion that the best thing would be to open her own shop, where discarded textiles would be given a second chance. At that moment, an idea called Textile Mountain was born in her head.
Within a few years, Lence managed to build a successful business with a brick-and-mortar branch in Prague 3, which gained a loyal customer base. She showed that there is real interest in quality products based on the principles of sustainability and circular economy.
The success of Textile Mountain is not only due to its environmental impact, but also due to the immense care that Lenka constantly takes for her assortment and customers. If you imagine salvaged fabrics as second-rate goods, you would be mistaken. The quality of the products is an absolute priority for her, which is why she does not hesitate to travel all over the country to see the fabrics for herself.
"Personal contact is important to me. We get fabrics from factories, from designers, and even uganda phone number data from people who have leftovers from their grandmothers. It's important that the fabric is of good quality or has an interesting story," explains Lenka.
The showroom in Prague 3 is visited by a diverse range of customers, from students to mothers on maternity leave to artists. The only thing that unites them all is an interest in quality fabrics and concern for the environment and the consequences of wasteful consumption.
Lenka has now become one of five awarded entrepreneurs in the Visa She's Next project, which seeks to empower women in business and support their growth and success.
"I am extremely happy about the win, because I see it as an appreciation of what we have achieved so far at Textile Mountain. I believe that the support I will receive now will move us even further," said Lenka.
Like the other winners, she will now receive a prize package that includes mentoring, professional video production with support on social media, and financial services from the project partner ČSOB.
