The one-hour content plan

Post by mdabuhasan »

Anyone who runs a blog has certainly encountered the difficulty of identifying the right topics to cover, has chased trends and encountered problems in defining a strategy.

An effective and structured response to these issues is essential to building a successful blog whose ultimate goal is to build an active and loyal fan base and generate income .

Defining a strategy for a blog may seem complex and confusing at times. The basis is knowledge of marketing and psychology. Meera Kothand comes to our aid with “ The one hour content plan ”, a book in which she presents the knowledge and techniques needed to create an effective content strategy for an entire year in just 60 minutes.

But what is meant by content strategy ?
Demian Farnworth defines it as

“the functional plan for building an audience, through the country email list publication, maintenance and dissemination of frequent and valuable content, which educates, entertains and inspires readers so as to take them from strangers to fans and from fans to consumers.”

There are several steps that can make managing a blog a real job:

identify niche and purpose
define the target audience
follow methodologies for creating content
define the tone of voice of our blog
Identify niche and purpose
The first step in building a successful blog is to identify a niche where we can provide useful and functional content and services that can improve and enrich the lives of our users.

We must therefore define the purpose of our blog by asking ourselves questions like “ who do I want to help ?”, “ in what area do I want to help them? ”, “ what are the problems that afflict them and how can I help them? ”

Let's say for example that our interest is to structure a blog in which we talk about healthy meal planning. We would immediately identify two large groups to work on: healthy meals and probably a target made up mostly of women. The first thing to do is to further specify our target, for example mothers who have children who go to school and who may be interested in healthy meals at a low cost and so on. We need to identify a specific theme , the more specific the theme is the more it responds to the real needs of the end user.

The next step is to ask yourself what change you bring to the reader's life : it is in fact necessary to build content in such a way that our user obtains a benefit, a change, and can solve their problems, according to a model that the author calls Driver of Change (DOC) . The content thus built will guide the reader towards their goals and will take you towards yours.
