LSocial network X (formerly Twitter) announced on March 7 the introduction of a new feature called “Articles” that allows users to publish long-form content on the platform.

This feature, exclusive to Premium+ subscribers (a membership category that costs €19.36 per month or €203.28 per year in Spain) and verified organizations , allows the publication of text-based articles, which can also include videos and images, similar to a content management system like WordPress.

What the new X feature offers
The feature was announced by Company X's @Write account , which published an article to demonstrate the capabilities of this new tool.

Unlike the previous increase in the character limit for paid users, which reached 25,000 characters, the limit for an article is now considerably higher, reaching 100,000 characters . Users can also add united states of america number data bullet lists, hyperlinked text, and other formatting elements to their posts .

After users post articles on X, they can be edited or deleted at any time . These articles will be displayed in the dedicated “Articles” section on the creators’ profile, as well as on their followers’ timelines, similar to other posts on the platform.

An idea that was already raised before
This project was mentioned by Elon Musk in July 2023. At the time, the owner of X explained that the tool would be a place to publish “long and complex articles with mixed media” .

Before Musk acquired Twitter, a similar feature called “Notes” was introduced in 2022. That project was put on hold and ad-free articles were removed. The introduction of Articles on X appears to be a response or a new initiative to offer users a way to post long-form content after the Notes project was put on hold.
