Don't shout your degree credentials

Post by sakibkhan22197 »

Are you thinking of starting a digital marketing business focused on SaaS (software as a service) and related services? Or maybe you already run such a business and need a handy list of common mistakes made by startup owners in this highly competitive niche. Either way, knowledge is power, and knowing what not to do is often as useful as knowing what to do.

Of course, in an imperfect world, human nature being what it is, there are far more than 12 items on any “don’t do” list. The following are the most common pitfalls that smaller, newer companies encounter on the road to success.

Keep in mind that learning from mistakes can be a valuable experience for any entrepreneur. But it is much more profitable to avoid mistakes in the first place, or at least catch them in their early stages before they become insurmountable.

In no particular order, the following items apply to marketing companies in general or specifically to companies involved in SaaS and related services.

Being too technical

People who sell IT products and services tend to be much more comfortable with the language and thought processes of the technical world. Buyers rarely have your level of experience or familiarity with the jargon and back-end functionality. Don't make your UI too tech-oriented.

Keep things lean and simple enough that even the most digitally challenged user can navigate and use the product.

You don't have to have a college degree to be successful as a marketer, but it helps. If you do have a college degree, try to include your accomplishments in an online bio or "About Us" article.

Likewise, if you’re looking to add a four-year degree to fresh list your resume, leverage the power of using a private lender to secure a student loan. In this age of telecommuting, eLearning, and tele-everything, there’s no reason to let a lack of funds keep you from bolstering your professional credentials.

The beauty of getting a private lender student loans is that they can cover all or a minimum of the total account, depending on your needs. Earn that degree with a private student loan and don't forget to let potential clients know that you are trained to help them find technical solutions to their daily challenges.

Be discreet about prices

Sophisticated customers are used to seeing accurate information at a glance. In addition to fast loading times, they expect to know how much you charge for your goods and services. If you force them to scramble from page to page to locate that information, you’re off to a bad start.

Put your pricing information in logical places and make it easy for visitors to find. If you’re shy about what you charge, that’s a whole other problem. Don’t be shy about listing all the details about your base packages, add-ons, upgrades, extras, and special services.

People want to know how much they will spend if they buy from you. Don't make it a chore for them.
