Using widgets in a WordPress layout
If your WordPress theme supports widgets, you can use them to redesign your website's layout. And with block widgets, your theme can now use blocks in the widget areas too.
You can add widgets to the widget-ready areas or sidebars of your WordPress website. Some WordPress themes have multiple widget-ready areas for adding widgets or blocks.

For example, you can use widgets/blocks to add lists of popular posts, a contact form , advertising banners, social media feeds , and much more.
