Conflicting goals for the company and employees

Post by Mitu100@ »

It is similar with work in sales . There, too, the tasks are mostly complex, creative, such as preparing offers or planning project processes.

But if I am rewarded for making a sale, then I will try to make as many sales as possible. If the rule "if there is an order, then there is a commission", sales people will always put as little work as necessary into winning an order. Whether the customer then feels they are being taken in too quickly or even cayman islands telegram screening ripped off becomes irrelevant.

This short-term focus of sales is a reason for criticism of commissions in sales. Most private individuals do not think as long-term as companies have to. Thus, the reward is aimed at maximizing sales in period X, while the company tries to maximize overall success (over its entire existence).

motivation in the team
Another negative aspect of commissions for individual employees is the effect on the team. In companies or teams with a commission model, there will always be top and low performers. There is the star who closes the most deals and others who just can't keep up. The higher the incentive to make a sale, the more the team develops into a multitude of lone wolves. Guess what happens when an employee is pressed for time for an important presentation. Will his colleagues be happy to help him? Of course not. After all, they are helping him to earn more and they themselves have less time to close the deal.
