The alternative: online and offline media

For the sake of simplicity, media was divided into online and offline media. This worked quite well.

Today, this distinction is no longer clear. Most media can now be consumed online and offline: a printed medium is an offline medium. The same magazine from the Internet (eBook/PDF), however, would be an online medium.

So this is no longer a georgia telegram screening really meaningful classification.

However, both classifications do not take into account an extremely important decision criterion: your ability to influence and control the media or content!

Your media mix – the sensible classification
In my opinion, the following classification of media makes much more sense! Because it describes the extent to which you can control these media and what influence you have on the content.

Divide your media into

own media
deserved media
paid media
Let’s now take a look at what own, earned and paid media are and what belongs where!

owned media
This includes all media that are under your control in terms of content, creation and publication. And of course, belong to you.

Our own media include:

Your website – from the digital online business card to the extensive content platform with web shop. (Except websites that were created with website builders such as Jimdo, Wix and Co.)
