Personalize the subject of your emails

Post by nishat@264 »

Did you know that emails with personalized subject lines are 22.2% more likely to be opened ? This should come as no surprise: personalizing your email subject lines makes them much more effective, whether they’re warm or cold.

But why this?

People like to hear or read their own name, or at least something that is personal to them. It was Dale Carnegie - author of How to Win Friends and Influence People - who once said:

A person's name is to them the sweetest and most important sound in any language.

Need we explain it any further? If you wuhan cell phone number list received two emails with the same subject line except for the use of your name, which one would you open first? Exactly: Personalization works because... it's personal - and the same is true of email.

So how do you personalize your email subject lines? There are several methods, the most obvious of which is to use the recipient’s name. Here’s a list of ideas you can use:

Use their first or full name
Use the name of the company they work for
Use their job title
The degree of personalization you can achieve is limited by the data you have on those people. A good database/contact list will help you find relevant information .

To further personalize, you can do a search on LinkedIn. This might tell you that they attended a conference, event, or workshop. You might also be able to see what articles they read, liked, or even wrote. If they have social media profiles, take a look.

If implemented correctly, this is what it might look like.
