In this graph you can see that the popularity is highest among girls between 9 and 14 years old. But what I find even more striking is the number of TikTok users aged 6 to 8. So young! And this while you are officially only allowed to use the app from the age of 13.
NOS Jeugdjournaal reported at the end of last year that many accounts of 13-minners are deleted by TikTok. Without warning. You can create an account if you are 13 years or younger. Then you simply have to enter a different year. But apparently TikTok will sooner or later discover that this information is incorrect. How they discover this is not clear.
So TikTok's popularity is greatest among children under the age of 12. Something that officially shouldn't be possible.
What is interesting about this graph is that TikTok peaks at a much younger buy phone number list age than the other social media channels. Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube peak around 19 years old and Facebook peaks a bit later: around 24 years old.
Facebook is growing in popularity
On to Facebook. Where the number of Facebook users shrank last year, especially the number of users under 40, the number has actually grown this year! 2019 was of course also (really) a year without major scandals. With a growth of 230,000 Dutch users within a year, we can cautiously say that Facebook is on the rise again. Will this growth continue?

But the number of younger users is not increasing. They are still done with Facebook. And of course they have no time for it anymore, besides TikTok and Instagram. In the graph below it is clear that Facebook is still the most important social media platform among all ages from 20 years (not counting WhatsApp).
