The turban of 60-year-old Avtar Singh Mauni is enormous and weighs 45 kg. It is decorated with many heavy metal elements, and the length of the fabric from which the unique headdress of the elderly Sikh is made is 645 meters. For comparison: this is the length of 13 Olympic swimming pools lined up in one line.

In the ancient religious culture of the Sikhs, the turban has a special meaning. It symbolizes spirituality, honor, courage and self-respect. Interestingly , Sikhs do not cut their hair and wear turbans to neatly style their long hair.

Avtar Singh Mauni spent 16 years creating his special database turban. At first, the length of his headdress was 151 meters, but over time he managed to increase it to 645 meters. Now, it takes a Sikh 6 hours to tie a turban!

If we consider the individual components of the record-breaking turban, the fabric weighs 30 kg, and its large metal decorations add another 15 kg. Of course, carrying a 45 kg load on your head is not easy at all, but Avtar Singh Mauni is very proud of his turban and is not going to part with it. Interestingly, in addition to the heavy turban, the Sikh also wears other, no less heavy, traditional attributes of his culture - his sword and large iron bracelets weigh about 40 kg.
