Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the conference given by Javier Batanero (e-La Caixa) and Enric Jové (McCann Erikson) on “ Social Networks as a new support for Marketing and Sales ”. The conference, organised by ISM-Esic Barcelona , ​​dealt with the uses made of social networks (with positive, negative, local, international examples…) and how companies can adapt this tool to their marketing strategy. Hence the title of this post, Enric’s final reflection on the new order in which we find ourselves.

Social Networks - New Order

This was precisely one of the aspects that most affected business owner data user list me during this period of very significant and irreversible changes, and not precisely because of the global financial-economic crisis. The foundations of traditional businesses are passing away, nothing is (or can be) the same as before, at any business level.

The exponential growth that both people and companies are subjected to means that we have stopped thinking that Social Networks are a fad (like the video that opened the conference , used in Jorge 's last course ) and that Social Media Marketing has begun to be truly integrated into the overall Marketing strategy itself.

How can we take advantage of social networks? Well, as Javier argued (with the help of Enric), there are different ways and/or approaches, but the crux of the matter lies in getting closer , listening , connecting , capturing ( engaging ), adding value and being authentic . These premises, which are not few, imply a strong change for companies that we could define as “traditional” or more focused on B2B, far from the greater ease of communicating with equals (consumers). In addition, we must overcome handicaps such as “ control of what will be said ”, “ I am not interested ” or “ we are not brave enough for it ”,…
