It is not surprising that larger and older websites tend to benefit from this. My board game blog only started in 2017. Websites that deal with money in any way naturally require a lot of trust and expertise. But we should also not forget that Google has also changed other things in the last week. For example, Google Ads ads have been made less noticeable , which has certainly caused criticism and may be a reason why even more Google users are more likely to click on ads than on organic search results.
Google has also changed the way that a featured snippet no longer displays the website on the first search results page. The websites affected have certainly lost some traffic as a result. What can and should you do after a Google update? All in all, it's a bit like groping in the dark. Nobody really knows what to do now. Especially since Google always gives the same advice. Don't panic and just keep creating good content.
